Moving the Concrete Blob

The next step after demolishing the concrete blob was moving it out to the side of the road on Mill St. so Shelton's Highways and Bridges Department could cart it away.

Luis , Ted & Mark brought their collection of wheelbarrows, crowbars, and Other Implements of Destruction to facilitate the move.

Concrete is heavy.  It weighs about 150 lbs/cubic foot and should be lifted with care (unlike in this photo).  This looks like a 4 Advil evening.

This is a better photo.  Ted & Luis are using a rock net to cart one of the concrete chunks over to a wheelbarrow.

Mark and Ted are picking up a chunk of concrete and moving it out to the road.  Keep your back straight and lift with your legs.

The trailhead at the end.  Nice and Clean.  The Shelton Highways and Bridges Department did a quick job the next day picking up the concrete and hauling it away.  Hopefully to be recycled and used to be filling in a pothole or roadside somewhere in town.  Good job by everybody involved.
