It's a beautiful Spring Sunday; sunny, warm, breezy - possibly a little soggy from the storms earlier in the week, but a good day for a Wildflower Walk at Birchbank Mountain. Meet at 1:00 on Birchbank Mountain Road at the railroad crossing 1 mile north of Indian Well State Park. If you survive the drive you'll enjoy the hike up and down the mountain. Here's some of the flowers that you may see. The Shelton Land Conservation Trust also posted some great photos of spring plants growing at Nicholdale on their page.
The walk is good for children and dogs on leashes. There is a lot of up and down, so bring something to drink and be prepared to enjoy some early spring hiking.
