One of the Shelton Trails Committee's major goals for 2009 is to restore the Paugussett Trail from Indian Well State Park to Stratford. This is the view South along the powerlines from Independence Drive toward Route 108. This portion of the route contains scenic views, open grasslands, a vernal pool, beautiful shrubs, and some really gnarly briars that need to be whacked. We are awaiting a go- ahead from the Mayor and Aldermen to extend the trail out though the Wiecek Open Space and Mayflower Lane down to the State Park.

ReplyDeleteI've read reports that there are plans in the works to extend the Paugussett trail to link with the Shelton Lakes trail system. Do you know if these reports have any merit? Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
